Agencies in Kathmandu usually quote NPR 40,000 to 150,000 per month for comparable work, because their pricing carries office overhead, account managers, and junior staff who do the actual delivery.

What Changes the Price
Two Nepal businesses can get quotes that differ by 4x for what sounds like the same service. These are the variables that actually move the number:
Site size and current condition
A 6-page business site with clean code costs far less than a 200-page site with duplicate URLs and no schema. Sites already penalised by bad past SEO cost more, because cleanup comes before progress.
Keyword competitiveness
Ranking for "seo expert in nepal" is far harder than "tax consultant in Butwal". National, high-volume terms need more content and more months, so they cost more than local terms.
Implementation or advice only
Reports are cheap. Fixing things is not. Most Nepal SEO quotes are advice-only, meaning you still need a developer. My pricing includes the implementation, because I write the code myself.
Content volume
SEO without new content is capped. If your niche needs 2 to 4 articles a month to compete, that is real writing time and it shows up in the retainer.

The gap is not about quality, it is about overhead. An agency quoting NPR 80,000 per month is paying for an office, a sales person, an account manager, and the junior who does your work. Working directly with an independent specialist removes those layers. The trade-off is capacity: an agency can run five channels at once, an independent specialist goes deep on one or two. If SEO is your main priority, independent is usually better value. If you need SEO plus paid ads plus social plus video simultaneously, an agency earns its premium.
Be careful with SEO priced under NPR 5,000 per month
At that price nobody can afford to do technical work, research, or write content. What you normally get is an automated tool report, a handful of directory submissions, or link spam that can actively damage your rankings. If a quote looks impossibly cheap, ask exactly which pages will be changed and what the monthly deliverable is. Vague answers are the tell.
Is SEO Worth the Money for a Nepal Business?
It depends entirely on whether people search for what you sell. If your customers find you through Google (services, clinics, hospitality, B2B, education, ecommerce), SEO compounds: traffic keeps arriving after you stop paying, unlike ads which stop the day the budget stops. If your customers come mainly through Facebook referrals or walk-ins, put your money into Google Business Profile and local search first, which is cheaper and faster.
